Throughout the period from 1994-1996,  I would call up the "David Berner Show" and just ramble about one thing or another. I guess it was late night therapy or something.

At long last! The SEQUEL to 'Profit For Perversion', which was my very first film! In THIS version, we have the complete film, only edited shot-for-shot BACKWARDS. So 'The End' is actually the beginning. Have Fun! Stars Putnam George.

Found at the Seattle Goodwill in 2000. Two women singing quite off key and really going for broke on this home recording. Quality of the disc is very scratchy, it sounds at times as if was used as a Frisbee and there's an annoying hum throughout the song but to clean it up would be pointless. Enjoy it as if you put the needle down yourself.

I became fascinated with School Band Music years ago in the 80's when I picked up a marching band record at a thrift store and heard interpretations of popular songs by kids. Now... there's a lot of crap to sift through when looking for school band records and most LPs will only have one good song (if that). There are exceptions to that rule, like the Lochiel and South Carvolth (Langley Schools Music Project) records that were found in Canada by Brian Linds and released on CD by Irwin Chusid....

In the world of Organ Grinder records there are many misses, but this album by Chris Anderson (who appears to prefer to just be called "Chris" as his stage name) gets me dancing around and tapping my toes. He'd make Lenny Dee mighty proud with his take on this classic song. The LP is a vanity pressing (no date, but I'm guessing from the late 70's) and features Chris on the Hammond Console Series 2300 and Model B-3 Organs. - Otis Fodder.

Dana Countryman writes: "When I walked into the Everett, WA Goodwill store near my house a few years back, little did I know I'd come out with one of my best scores ever. I picked up a copy of a local school band album by the Rose Hill Junior High School Jazz Ensemble on a whim. It was only a buck, so I took a chance. Besides, they did a cover of the Beatles' "Lady Madonna" - that HAD to be interesting. Boy, was I right...." ...was he ever right! When Dana told me on the...

"In general I really don't have much success in finding very many "good" school band recordings worth preserving or that deserve a second listen. Many people have come to realize that my use of the word "good" is very subjective, and often means "bad" or more precisely, "so bad it's good." And when I say something is "weird, bizarre, unique, off key, inventive, outsider, or incorrect" it means "good!" and exactly what I'm looking...

I can't claim full credit for discovering this one. It was collected by some smart-aleck(s) in Nashville for a limited cassette release in 1994. This duet for insane woman and tape hiss was recorded on a portable tape recorder as a gift for a lonely park ranger in California. Woodville, Alabama's Ms. Little believes herself to be the daughter of billionaire Howard Hughes and in possession of a ring once belonging to J.C. himself. - Perry Amberson

In the movie Amelie, the title character gives a list of things she loves. One of those is to find moments in movies that other people might miss. I love that too. In this movie you'll see some of the "hidden" moments in the films of the Prelinger Archive.
